Elaine Redd is the chief communications officer for the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce. In this role she serves as the principal advisor providing communications counsel to the CEO and other members of executive leadership. In addition, she’s responsible for reputation management, drives communications strategy, message creation and alignment, and announcement strategies, sets goals and metrics for the Communications and Public Relations department, and manages a small staff. 

Prior to joining the ChamberRedd spent 12 years in leadership roles in corporate communications and PR roles at General MotorsShe was a trusted advisor providing strategic communications counsel to senior executives on sensitive issues such as corporate restructurings, potential litigation, downsizing and plant closings. She also served as a company spokesperson and executive media trainer for key company initiatives including corporate announcements, organizational transformation, financial transactions, new product launches, customer service retention, and community relations. 

Before joining General Motors, Redd was vice president of Corporate Communications at Comerica Incorporated and held several communications positions at United Way for Southeastern Michigan and the University of Michigan-Dearborn in the earlier years of her career. 

Redd earned a B.A. degree in Communications from Wayne State University.
